Vaccines

Bordetella: Vaccine for very Infectious, hard to get rid of hacking/choking cough
DHPP: Core Vaccine for all dogs, protects against Distemper, Parvo, Adeno-2, and Parainfluenza viruses. For puppies at 2, 3, & 4 months old. Adults: first vaccination is good for 1 yr, subsequent vaccinations 3yr
FVRCP: Core vaccine for cats, protects against respiratory disease. Vaccinate kittens at 2, 3, & 4 months old; Adults: first vaccination is good for 1 yr, subsequent vaccinations 3 yrs.
Lepto 4: Bacteria found in unclean water that causes acute kidney failure; can be transmitted from pets to people. Vaccinate annually.
Leukemia: Protects against a retrovirus that never goes away and eventually causes death. Exposure is through saliva of infected cats. All cats should receive initial dosing as kittens. Outside cats should have annual boosters.
Rabies: Core Vaccine required by law to be given to every dog by 4 months of age. The first vaccination is good for 1 yr, subsequent vaccinations 3 yrs.

Intestinal Deworming: Intestinal parasites are as common as hair on a dog. Puppies and kittens should be treated monthly; adults should be treated 3-4 times per year. People can and do get these parasites from their pets!

Heartworm Test for Dogs: A screening test that checks for adult heart worms living in the heart.
Leukemia/FIV Test for Cats: These viruses are never cleared by cats and eventually cause death, similar to human HIV/AIDS. Knowing their status can help protect housemates and close neighbors.

E-Collar: \"Cone of Shame\" is usually only needed for adults, certain breeds or personalities who tend to lick interesting things.
Ear Tip for Cats: For cats that cannot be handled, we remove the tip of the left ear as a commonly accepted sign of sterilization.
Microchip ID: A permanent ID chip, the size of a grain of rice, that lives under the skin. Can help you be reunited with your pet.

Take Home 6 months of Heartworm Preventative for Dogs: Heartworm disease is a serious disease but easily prevented. This monthly chew also has medicine for intestinal worms. It is a generic Interceptor.
